Rock Agama

Found this guy in my neighbour's garden. Couldn't identify him immediately, but then found out that he is a rock agama. Here are a few links which provide some info about this reptile :-

I would have loved to get a better shot at it. But my Canon A75 with a 35 - 105 mm lens doesn't help me in taking good close up shots. I'm considering buying the Canon S2 IS sometime soon. Why am I not buying a DSLR ? Well.. Its quite expensive to buy one. A Canon 350D along with a 70-200 mm lens would cost me about $1500 !! Any opinions/reviews on the S2 IS ?

Hey, neat pic man! nice light. a little less DOF would have been perfect, but im gussing you were all zoomed out. S2 is the best non DSLR camera around and its pretty affordable as well (esp if you have generous cousins!!). I dont know if it'll be an issue, but the cam is not SLR-like, in the sense the focus will be like your current cam and not on the lens. I dont really know if it'll make a diff, but considering its a heavier cam, you might just want to handle it before buying it. Also, chk out the availability and canon's compatibility with other lenses. Whatever you do, dont forget to buy a tripod - it can be really handy with such high zoom capability.

Yeah.. I do understand that the S2 IS doesn't have the focus ring on the lens, but it does have an electronic viewfinder. I guess that would help during manual focus (and it would definitely be better than the manual focus mode in A75). Also.. It has the IS lens which should help in telephoto shots.
About the tripod... I'm surely buying one.
